Writings and Radio

As you should hopefully know by now, Daniel Manus Pinkwater is a prolific author and exuberant radio personality. His books, most of which are aimed primarily at children, have also enjoyed success with adults and other organisms everywhere. Daniel's commentaries are heard regularly on NPR's "All Things Considered," and he also appears on "Weekend Edition Saturday" to discuss books with NPR's Scott Simon. The newest addition to Mr. Pinkwater's radio repertoire is Chinwag Theater, a delightful public radio program that featured book readings, humor, and some cool jazz. Unfortunately, the show was canceled in April 2002. There are plans afoot to broadcast the old episodes online.

Indulge yourself with the resources below.

On occasion, Mr. Pinkwater shares his thoughts with the folks at CarTalk. Their site includes sounds clips, transcripts, and more. (Seems to be dead at present, we're workin on it)
New Hampshire Public Radio
Daniel was a guest on The Exchange, a call-in program produced by New Hampshire Public Radio, talking with Laura Knoy (Knoy?) about children's books and taking calls from listeners. Highly recommended. (Note: The audio portion has been removed, but you can still order a tape.)
